Would you be interested in joining our team of pharmacists and technicians to deliver medicines optimisation services? NHS North of England Commissioning Support (NECS) is looking for dynamic pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to join our highly skilled and experienced team .We will provide you with comprehensive induction and training supported by an experienced and friendly team.
NECS is one of the leading commissioning support organisations in the country, with a successful and experienced medicines optimisation team. The Medicines Optimisation service supports a variety of customers, in meeting their statutory responsibilities in commissioning medicines in accordance with medicines related legislation, and meeting their obligations to patients under the NHS Constitution with respect to local decision making around medicines-related commissioning.
The role of the pharmacist and technician requires a range of skills and offers you a chance to influence local decision making, improve patient care and support quality prescribing. Areas of work you may be involved with are :
Providing prescribing support (prescribing analysis, identification of outlying prescribing, support to improve quality, safety and cost effectiveness of evidence based prescribing) and medicines optimisation (medication reviews for specific patients groups ) services to a number of GP practices within the locality.
Supporting care homes with systems and processes to reduce medicines waste and improve the overall management of medication within those homes
Supporting the governance and risk agenda
Delivery of training packages to GP practice teams to improve repeat prescribing processes
If your application is successful you will be placed on our pharmacy register and will be contacted as and when fixed term contracts become available, there may also be opportunity for ad hoc hours
