Bid Manager (Major Bids)
We currently have an opportunity for a Bid Manager to join our Major Bids Team working within Marine & Technology, Bristol.
This is a permanent, full time position.
The Bid Manager will report to the Head of Major Bids and be responsible for the following:
Management of bid teams, from PQQ through to BAFO, for competitive bids worth over £20M.
Leading the bid team through the preparation of tender documentation to customers and the internal governance process.
Champion and continuously improve the company business winning process.
Required Skills and Experience / Qualifications
Skills and Experience:
Significant experience in bid and proposal preparation/project management in an engineering company delivering defence, energy and/or commercial maritime systems and services.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to work across disciplines and Business Units and obtain sufficient knowledge of the technical issues to be able to talk confidently to teams of specialists and other internal Stakeholders up to and including Board members.
A technical background and familiarity with the Shipley Associates methodology would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be highly motivated and results focused a good and confident communicator, comfortable working under pressure with strong organisational skills.
Minimum qualifications would include a bachelor degree in a relevant discipline.
Professional accreditation in the APM and/or APMP is highly desirable.
Bristol is a vibrant city in South West England with a wide range of attractions, landmarks, events and shopping. It has excellent transport links and is only 1.5 hours from London by train.
Successful candidates will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements and may be required to complete a medical assessment.
The role will be in an environment regulated by Trade Control legislation and involve working with controlled goods, technology and/or services. This may require you to meet enhanced security and regular screening checks.
