Our Skills & Learning business is one of the nation's largest private sector providers of vocational and skills training working in partnership with major employers across the Automotive, Emergency Services, Engineering and Service sectors.
We are now seeking to recruit an experienced Trainer (Behavioural and Cultural) to deliver high quality and engaging training.
Key Outputs and Activities:
Deliver high quality and engaging training in accordance with the training materials and references provided
Where required, assess delegate performance and provide feedback
Provide administrative support to training, including classroom preparation, generation and distribution of instructions, liaison with other contractors, recording of attendance, and maintenance of course materials
Demonstrate and support good practice through innovative teaching and learning strategies
Deliver training to delegates in accordance with company standards and contractual requirements – nationally
Carries out any other appropriate task that may be required by the Contract Manager in support of training delivery.
To be administratively responsible for delegates during the delivery of training
Ensure Company health, safety and environmental procedures are implemented and complied with at all times.
Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with the Company Equality and Diversity Policy
Comply fully with the Company IT Security Policy
Provides effective delegate advice, guidance and support
Understands the required outcomes, monitors progress and identifies improvements
Responsible for their own Health and Safety and that of work colleagues and also students in their care
Protecting assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference
Comply with the Data Protection Act 1998
Experience (within last 5 years), or directly employed, in the delivery of training
Experience in the maintenance of course materials (within last 5 years)
Previous instructional experience in a safety critical environment and the Systems Approach to Training (ideally within last 5 years)
Experience in the administration of training and trainees
Experience (within last 3 years) of using technology to support training delivery
Experience of the energy, engineering or construction sectors
Strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication abilities; specifically in the learning environment
Demonstrates effective planning and teaching in a learning environment
Demonstrates effective coaching skills in the learning environment
Performance: creates a culture of high performance and people management and actively manages poor performance
Demonstrates and effective coaching style in order to deliver training
Fosters an organisational culture that is positive about change and committed to delivery of business objectives
Expresses information and ideas clearly and concisely using a variety of methods and styles appropriate to the needs and interests of the target audience
Develops and maintains strong working relationships with partners, colleagues and delegates; breaks down barriers between groups and involves others in discussions/activity as appropriate
Demonstrates a commitment to CPD as a trainer
Demonstrates knowledge and application of instructional techniques
Demonstrates a knowledge and understanding of assessment methods, question technique, use of technology in the classroom and level 1 and 2 training evaluation
Hold a City and Guilds Certificate in Education and Training, PTLLS, teacher training qualification or other nationally recognised training delivery qualification at NQF L3 or higher
ECDL or equivalent proficiency in using IT (hardware/software) within the workplace
First aid qualification (desirable)
