Job Introduction
As a member of the editorial publishing team, the Writer/Sub Editor plays a central role in the editorial and publishing success of our digital output. The Writer/Sub Editor is expected to originate, research and prepare written features for publication across platforms along with sub editing the work of others.
Role Responsibility
The Writer/Sub Editor is expected to originate and prepare written editorial that is purposeful, thought provoking and stimulates emotion.
Duties will include sub-editing and text production and to take a lead role in ensuring the delivery of planned and reactive features on a daily basis.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have exceptional journalistic and editorial judgement and the ability to lead and guide others within the team through more complex issues that arise with challenging editorial.
You will need detailed knowledge of BBC Threes editorial agenda, sharp writing skills and the ability to respond effectively in a fast-moving production environment.

The role will be based in London on a fixed term contract for the duration that BBC 3 is based there before it moves to Birmingham in 2018. There may be opportunity for a continuing contract for individuals willing to move to Birmingham.
