The St Joseph's fundraising team expanded in 2014 and since then we have doubled our net income. The hospice is committed to developing the team further and this is an exciting time to join us. We are a team of dedicated, experienced and friendly people and have created a set of team values to reflect this. If you are open, enthusiastic, excellent, supportive and ambitious then you are the candidate that we are looking for.
St Joseph's has been at the heart of the East End since 1905 and we never lose sight of the reason we're here: to provide expert care for people in East London so that they can die with dignity. When you're diagnosed with a terminal illness, your world turns upside down. What becomes important is the time you have left, whether that's days, weeks or months.
At St Joseph's Hospice, we help people make the most of that time. If a patient wants to spend time with their friends and family or get back in touch with someone, we'll support them. If they decide to get married, we'll make the arrangements and if someone wants to talk over a cup of tea, we'll get the kettle on.
The Community Fundraiser will be responsible for delivering a programme of local fundraising engaging a variety of audiences from schools, groups and local individuals to achieve the target of 150,000 (17/18). You will also be responsible for delivering our established summer and Christmas community events as well as looking for new opportunities and initiatives to promote. You will be an experienced fundraiser who is confident, enthusiastic and committed to delivering first-class supporter care. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and experience of presenting to various audiences. You will be innovative and have a drive to succeed as well as an understanding of the local area that we work in.
At St Joseph's we offer a fantastic programme of benefits including annual pay increments according to your banding and 27 days of Annual Leave (plus bank holidays). We offer a credited Pension Scheme, subsidised restaurant, cycle to work scheme, season ticket loan and an employee assistance programme as well as a commitment to training and development.
