Graduate Paramedic

Salary: Band 3 16,968 rising to Band 5 22,128 on receipt of HCPC registration plus up to an additional 25% unsocial hours allowance
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to recruit Graduate Paramedics. This advert is aimed at Paramedic students who are currently studying and are due to complete a relevant qualification in pre-hospital care resulting in registration as a Paramedic with the Health Care Professions Council by Summer 2017.
Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence with Provisional Category C1 entitlement with no more than 3 points (consideration may be given to applicants with up to 6 points on their licence but this will be reviewed on an individual basis).

Applicants who have not completed placements with our Trust, the assessment process will be split into two stages; an initial Advanced Life Support (ALS) assessment and subject to successful completion of this you will then be invited to attend a final selection day to complete the remaining assessments which consists of a driving assessment, fitness assessment, interview, clinical OSCE and VIVA clinical case study.
Applicants who have completed placements with our Trust, will undertake an assessment date which consists of a driving & fitness assessment and a formal interview.
On commencement with the Trust successful candidates will be placed onto an induction programme which includes a full clinical introduction to West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and the 4 week Level 3 Emergency Response Ambulance Driving qualification. Please note the induction is on a pass or fail basis.
Following your induction programme a structured operational support agreement is in place to provide additional assistance and develop confidence.
