What is the purpose of the job?
The International Foods growth plan is a key priority for M & S as we aim to grow our estate & sales through our partners around the world.
We currently trade in over 200 stores across 25 markets around the world with annual sales of over �320m and ambitious growth plans in our priority markets
To support this, we are looking for a high performing individual to join the current team.
The role of the International Trading Planner is to support the International Foods & Franchise Partner teams in exceeding the budget, drive the core LFL performance through analysis, insight and collaborative work with the Food Group.
This role also offers a great opportunity to develop your knowledge of International M & S and working with a wide variety of partners and stakeholders through the business.
The purpose of this role is to:
� Support the International Foods Best M & S Plan to enhance commercial performance to meet Operating Plan targets
� Act as a deputy to the Commercial Manager, maximising sales through effective catalogue management, pricing strategy and promotional planning
� Support the International Foods Commercial Manager in the compilation of the Operating Plan and Quarterly revisions
� Work with the International Foods Analyst and Supply Chain teams to identify category/country opportunities, making recommendations to drive sales & shipments
� Manage & maintain the International Foods promotion plan working with partners to develop a �market right� plan and with suppliers to secure promotional funding.
� Working with the International Foods Analyst to assess the performance of past promotions & use this to build the future plans
� Manage a �market right price� review process alongside the International Foods Commercial Planners & International Franchise Partner Team
� Proactive engagement with the UK food category teams to identify newness, range changes and opportunities to drive sales performance abroad. Attend appropriate Creative Seal meetings and producing range packs for International Partners so they are aware of upcoming NPD & priority lines
� Work with International SRD team to develop guidance for International Partners on merchandising principles
� Support the delivery �market right choice� through range analysis working with the International Foods & International Franchise Partner teams
� Work with the International Foods Communications Manager in producing the Quarterly International Foods Priorities document which is sent to all partners & monthly phase documentation
� Build effective relationships with the franchise partners to facilitate commercial discussions
Supporting the team in all administration tasks on an ad hoc basis
Technical skills/business skills required
