2 years initially (posts suitable for secondment)

The North East & Cumbria aims to significantly transform services for people with learning disabilities and/or autism who have or may be at risk of behaviour that challenges, to lead happy, healthy and safe lives.

Supporting the transformation of the workforce across all sectors is a fundamental element of our Transforming Care Partnership. Positive Behavioural Support is an approach that enables the right support to be provided at the right time to make this goal possible.

Three new posts have been designed and developed to lead, support and shape the Cumbria and North East Positive Behavioural Support Community of Practice in order to improve the standard of PBS provision in the region and thus enable people to achieve good quality of life outcomes.

The Strategic Learning Disability Workforce Development Managers (1 wte Senior Strategic Learning Disability Workforce Development Manager, 8b; 2 wte Strategic Learning Disability Workforce Development Managers, 8a;) will lead a strategic workforce development approach to develop the skills, knowledge and values of PBS for everyone involved in providing support for people with learning disabilities and/or autism who have or may be at risk of behaviour that challenges.

The posts are for 2 years initially, then potentially substantive subject to evaluation of effectiveness. They are full time positions and are suitable for secondment (potential candidates are required to seek support from existing employing organisation for secondment prior to interview).

The post holders will work on behalf of the Cumbria and North East Transforming Care Partnership. These positions are hosted by North Durham CCG, on behalf of both North Durham and Durham Dales Easington and Sedgefield CCGs, and based at The Rivergreen Centre, although there will be a frequent requirement to work in and travel across Cumbria and the North East (including home working) so access to your own transport during working hours is essential. These positions will work in partnership with the Faculty of Life Sciences at Northumbria University.

Provisional interview date is 5 th October 2017
